Bikes, boats, beds, trampolines, harvest processing equipment, home appliances … David Miller has a wealth of experience and a real passion for design engineering. In his spare time, David has designed and built a clever bunk bed that features a floating hand rail, cantilevered corner, and storage. He enjoys modifying and restoring motor bikes, sailing, and has a number of garage/workshop projects on the go.

Project Experience
AUTOMATED OVEN LINE
Worked with client team to develop clinch tools, presses and part loaders as part of a larger flexible fully automated oven line. Work involved taking a concept design through analysis to manufacturing drawings and manufacturing support.
200kN MOORING SYSTEM
Detailed design of a vacuum mooring system for a global based client. Working with the clients cross functional design team to complete the partially detailed design, including hydraulic power pack, reticulation and manufacturing drawings.

M18 Mini Trampoline
David was Product Development Manager for this award winning small format trampoline. It has a stamped and welded frame, over molded fiberglass bars, slide-on enclosure/playpen, and slide-on feet for adult exercise use.

The largest vegetable polishing machine in the world today! David did strength and deflection calculations; developed motor-gearbox specifications and bearing and seal arrangements; and integrated discrete machines, platforms, and conveyors into a complete line.

Bunk Bed
A practical and clever bed designed constructed by David. The strong, modular design is constructed in plywood. It is economically designed to minimise material wastage
