We’re excited to have Matthew as part of the team at Caliber. Matthew brings a great deal of multi-industry experience and a real passion for engineering. Prior to working at Caliber, he worked at Kinneir Dufort (UK) where he was involved in mechanical design and development of products from concept generation and prototyping through to DFM and manufacture. Earlier, he worked at product development and manufacturing company AdeptTwo of his key roles were the design and development of parts and assemblies for injection moulding or machining, and pneumatic jigs and robot end-of-arm tool design for industrial automation.

I am fascinated by the design of all things mechanical, from old machinery and classic cars from before the days of computers to new products and innovations that would not be possible without modern technology and manufacturing methods.

My engineering career has taken me from New Zealand to England and back again, and has opened my eyes to both the creative world of product design and the robustness of industrial automation. I enjoy projects where I have the freedom to design from a blank slate and take the product right through to manufacture.

ELMG - Medium Voltage Distribution Transformer Review

ELMG DIGITAL POWER

Medium Voltage Distribution Transformer Review

Mechanical analysis of a medium voltage distribution power transformer with a combination of theoretical and computational tools. Fluid and heat flow analysis used to provide client with design recommendations to maximise product reliability.

Scott Tech - Clinch Press

SCOTT TECHNOLOGY

Clinch Press

Detailed design of an automated hydraulic press for the clinching of joints in sheet metal. Analysis was used to verify the 60T loads, and full drawings for manufacture were supplied.

Touchless Clip Dispenser

ADEPT

Touchless Clip Dispenser

Developed a series of touchless devices to allow for the dispensing of weasand clips without risk of cross-contamination in abattoirs.
