FRM Detailed Design
Developed detailed design models and manufacturing drawings for a Front Row Monument (FRM) for a Qatar Airways Airbus A380. This involved quickly learning the composite manufacturing processes specific to the client and developing detailed designs using those newly learnt concepts. My earlier experience of Inventor and Vault was leveraged to take a major portion of the design work with little supervision.
New Production Line Setup
Provided engineering support, project engineering for setting up a new production line at Sanitarium. Working with their team, developed layout concepts as to minimize operator fatigue and optimize production time. Designed some of the conveying equipment. Coordinated with suppliers & fabricators to setup the various elements of the production line.
Powder Handling System
Worked closely with Fresco team to complete the detailed design for powder debagging & transfer system of a dairy plant. The project involved equipment like silos, support platforms, conveyor, debagging equipment, piping etc. Reviewed design for ATEX requirements & performed HAZOP analysis. Generated manufacturing drawings, Installation manuals and product documentation.
Door Lift Mechanism
Based on the concept provided by customer, performed detailed design of a hydraulic lifting mechanism, to lift a heavy door of ~5 tons. Performed calculations and sized various elements of mechanism viz. rope, sheaves, bearings, cylinder, structure etc. Developed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
Engineering has been there right from childhood. I was curious and asked questions about how things worked … I liked fixing things (like lights and fans in the house!) My special interest in Geometry, Maths, and Science has further helped me excel in tough entrance exams for good engineering...
DHV Stage 2 Refit
Designed new systems for the Man Overboard Recovery and Navigational Pelorus work packs. Supported other activities of procuring watertight doors, fire safety valves, designing piping and structural elements of the ship. Tasks involved writing up specification documents, converting existing ship drawings to 3D models, developing new design concepts, contacting suppliers for product selection, FE analysis of structures, writing reports for third party design certification, CAD modelling and drawing.
Linear Sample Divider
Working through the concepts, previous designs, and project requirements, Sanjeev developed a new piece of aggregate sampling equipment (LSD). He sized the structure and actuators for various motions in the machine, and worked with suppliers to find suitable hardware.
Steam & Gas Turbine Components
Developed a new inlet design for a super critical steam turbine, resulting in US$1.5M savings. Also developed a new concept for cooling turbine horizontal joint bolts (US Patent 20150159512). Process improvement initiatives led by Sanjeev helped reduce engineering time of his team by approximately 20%.
Conveyor System Design
Supported Stackflo’s engineering team to complete detail design of a large milk crate conveyor system. Developed new bend sections & transitions. Adapting to their system requirements generated drawings and BOM.
I developed strong skills in using various CAD tools for both design and analysis. I have worked with ASME, AS, NZS codes to meet regulatory requirements. I performed various structural, thermal & product life evaluation analysis. I visualize the product through its life cycle to capture features for manufacturing, transportation and ease of use, thus creating a lasting product.

Dewatering Roller Analysis
Validated a roller repair solution being presented to their customer. Performed an FEA to compare the design of the repaired roller to that of original design. Sized bolts for fatigue loads & optimized shrink fit dimensions. CASE STUDY
Pressure Vessel Design
Based on the concept sketches from process engineer, sized the pressure vessels. Performed calculations for design to meet ASME pressure vessel code requirements. Developed 3D models and manufacturing drawings. Got the design certified for PS1.
OIL & GAS INDUSTRY
Heavy Equipment & Pressure Vessels
Involved with projects for Exxon Mobil, Chevron, KBR, Fluor Daniel, and Bechtel. Developed thorough understanding of thermal design, ASME codes, and design for high temperatures.
