AARON GHATTAS

Team Lead, based in Christchurch

Aaron arrived in NZ from Australia with an Aerospace Degree from RMIT, a few exceptional work opportunities and 3 years as a Technical Support Engineer for a number of airlines under his belt. In NZ, he worked in aerospace design, airworthiness, and aircraft maintenance at Air New Zealand for 7 years, before joining us at Caliber in 2021. At AirNZ, Aaron provided technical solutions and coordination of all sorts to enable safe, timely operations, and maintenance of aircraft fleets for NZ and abroad.

Aaron is a talented problem solver and a fountain of knowledge. In his two and a half years with us, Aaron has worked on an automation system for Motion Design, new product development at Enphase, pneumatic conveying pipe layout for Vortex storage silos, and now leading another Caliber engineer in a project at Enatel providing mechanical designs for new industrial electrical products. Aaron relishes “doing the tough jobs that many would shy away from.” He is an FEA and analysis by hand guru and creates analysis proposals for prospective projects.

Aaron’s talent, ambition and great attitude have seen him taken on Technical Lead role within the Christchurch Team. In this role, Aaron provides mentorship and technical advice to seven other Caliber engineers. He checks in with them weekly, keeping an eye on them from in a technical and pastoral sense.
