    PERSONAL STATEMENT

I began my career with an electrical apprenticeship, which laid the foundation for a hands-on, practical approach to engineering. I went on to complete a Bachelor of Engineering, specialising in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Since then, I have broadened my expertise across the controls’ project lifecycle, from initial electrical and safety design, drawings and procurement, through to the electrical panel build, PLC programming, and final commissioning. I have honed my skills across a variety of industries, starting with machine builds in food processing, before moving to complex conveyor systems for airports and logistics companies. My experience also includes commissioning automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) and automated guided vehicles (AGV’s). More recently, I have led R&D projects involving pick-and-place robotics with computer vision tasks. I have worked on these projects locally, and across Australia, Europe and Asia; leading project teams and partnering with clients to deliver outstanding solutions. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, surfing, cycling, and keeping my electronics hobbyist background current with custom-built PCB and microcontroller projects.

    Project Experience

    ROBOTIC PICK-AND-PACK ASSEMBLY CAROUSEL

Delivered a high-speed rotary indexing assembly system incorporating multiple 6-axis robots and computer vision for precision pick-and-place and component assembly tasks. Oversaw the development of electrical schematics, hardware assembly and wiring, PLC integration, functional safety, and end-to-end project execution.

    AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLES

This project involved a fleet of 25 automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to collect stacked pallets for wrapping and labeling, while also managing the return and placement of empty pallets. Each AGV was equipped with a newly developed load handling frame, assembled and tested during pre-commissioning in a local workshop. I worked as one of the lead controls engineers, supporting the full commissioning process from workshop validation through to on-site deployment.

    AUTOMATED HONEY PROCESSING EQUIPMENT

Led the electrical design, component selection and procurement, control panel assembly, PLC programming, and on-site commissioning for automated honey processing and extraction machinery. Delivered numerous systems across New Zealand, tailored to client needs and production environments.

    AUTOMATED STORAGE RETRIEVAL SYSTEM

This large-scale automated distribution solution involved two near-identical facilities featuring high-density pallet racking with over 40,000 storage locations each. Both sites included integrated inbound and outbound pallet conveyor systems and a network of Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) — 10 at one site and 12 at the other. My role encompassed site supervision for electrical installation as well as lead commissioning engineer for the ASRS.

    CONVEYOR TRAY SYSTEM

Seconded for one year to France leading the electrical installation and controls team to deliver a logistics automated conveyor tray system which consisted of over 2500 variable speed drives and 25 integrated PLC’s.
